Beacon Baptist Church (BBC) of Myrtle Beach, S.C. was established over 40 years ago. It was originally intended to be a downtown, Myrtle Beach church. However, God, according to His perfect will, planted BBC on the outskirts of Myrtle Beach in the community of Socastee. Its design was divinely directed and abundantly blessed by God. Its mission and message was the cross of Christ. Its sure foundation was the Bible. Because these three essentials were at the heart of BBC’s inception, its LIGHT still brightly shines almost four decades later.
Today, BBC is, happily and enthusiastically, a devoted New Testament, Bible-believing church. The membership of BBC desires and strives to align the beliefs, teachings and practices of our church with that of the faithful, first century, local churches as described in the Bible.
BBC’s true love is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Head and Shepherd of our Church. Under His divine headship and His loving leadership we are completely and cheerfully Baptist, fundamental, and independent.
BBC passionately loves and zealously stands firmly upon the Bible as inspired of God. Moreover, we gladly and boldly stand upon the King James Bible as the preserved word of God in English for us today.
The unchanging message of BBC to the world is, unreservedly, the gospel (good news) of the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We firmly believe in the new birth, as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ in John, chapter three. Based upon His teachings and His work upon the cross, we preach repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ to be saved. BBC sincerely cares for souls and is actively involved in spreading the message of Christ’s free salvation through tracts, personal visitation, invitations, and other forms of ministry.
The members of BBC endeavor, as a unified body, to follow Jesus Christ, share His gospel, proclaim His teachings, edify one another, remain separated from the world, and heartily worship God according to the principles and standards of scripture.
In both purpose and practice BBC seeks above all else to bring honor and glory to our exalted and worthy Lord.
