Faithful Witness is a gospel-singing ministry, which was established at Beacon Baptist Church in the early 1990s. Originally, Faithful Witness was a quartet consisting of singers David McClam, Rod Causey, Randy Saleeby, and David Moyer, along with their sound technician, Bill Moyer.
For several years this quartet sang together at Beacon Baptist Church and various churches and events across North and South Carolina. God blessed them abundantly. During this time, Faithful Witness maintained an extraordinarily fruitful exhortation ministry and was also instrumental in the conversion of souls to Christ.
Today, Faithful Witness is a trio consisting of two of its original members, our pastor, David Moyer and David McClam, along with his wife, Debby McClam. This fine group loves the Lord Jesus Christ and is tenderly devoted to Him.
By the blessings of God, Faithful Witness has a heavenly ability and a beautifully refined harmony. Their primary ministry is “preparation.” Indeed, Faithful Witness sings to prepare hearts for the preaching of God’s word. The ministry of Faithful Witness is, as it has always been, to exhort the brethren, help lead souls to Jesus Christ, and honor the Saviour!
The theme verse of Faithful Witness is Psalm 66:2: “Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.” As Faithful Witness sings, every song, line, word, and note is presented – never performed – for the glorious honor of the marvelous and matchless name of Jesus Christ.
Even the very title of the group, ‘Faithful Witness,’ was chosen in honor of the name of Christ. Some time after the group’s inception the name of ‘Faithful Witness’ was selected on the foundation of Revelation 1:5 & 6: “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
Jesus Christ is the Faithful Witness, and it is the desire of this special group of singers to follow and honor Him in being that ‘faithful witness’ He has called them to be.
